What is a dental restoration?
A dental restoration is any treatment that repairs a damaged tooth or replaces a missing one. That covers a wide range, from a simple filling for a small cavity to a crown, bridge, implant, or denture when the damage or tooth loss is more extensive.
The right restoration depends on how much of the natural tooth structure remains and whether a tooth is missing altogether. An exam lets us see what's actually going on and talk through which options fit your situation, before any treatment is scheduled.

Fillings
For a cavity or small area of decay, a filling removes the damaged part of the tooth and rebuilds it, restoring the tooth's shape and function without needing a crown.

Crowns
When a tooth has too much damage for a filling, a crown covers the entire visible tooth to restore its strength and shape. Every crown we place is crafted by our outside dental lab for a precise fit and natural appearance.

Bridges
A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring an artificial tooth to the natural teeth on either side of the gap, restoring your bite without surgery.

Inlays & Onlays
For damage that's more than a filling can handle but not enough to need a full crown, an inlay or onlay restores just the affected part of the tooth's chewing surface. Like our crowns, these are crafted by our outside dental lab to fit precisely against your natural tooth.

For a missing tooth, an implant replaces the root itself, anchoring a permanent replacement tooth. Dr. Johnson personally manages every step, from consultation through your final restoration. Consultations for implants are free.
